Why come to Lago Soledad?

01

Pristine protected forest with great wildlife

Lago Soledad is set in pristine, protected rainforest with outstanding wildlife.

Our tented camp lies beside a beautiful oxbow lake within a 1,040-hectare tourism concession, surrounded by 9,000 hectares of protected conservation forest.

Daily early-morning and late-afternoon lake excursions, a 32-metre canopy tower, and 20+ km of forest trails offer exceptional wildlife viewing and immersive rainforest exploration in a truly remote Amazon setting.

02

Easy access yet remote

Just 4 hours from Puerto Maldonado airport (PEM), Lago Soledad feels a world away.

The camp is located two hours by boat from the nearest road and settlement, accessible only by river.

Despite its remoteness, guests enjoy 24-hour solar-powered electricity and free Wi-Fi in common areas.

Our specially designed tents feature fully enclosed living spaces with a floating roof system that maximizes airflow while minimizing insects—combining comfort, sustainability, and immersion in the rainforest.

03

Sustainability & Social Impact

Run entirely on solar power, Lago Soledad is a sustainable, intimate jewel in the Peruvian Amazon. A 34-metre deep water well provides crystal-clear water free from mining contamination, while biodigestors ensure that no human pollutants enter the surrounding ecosystem.

Our innovative tent design minimises the use of wood, using a floating roof system and natural greenery to create privacy, maximise airflow, and maintain airy, largely insect-free living spaces—offering comfort while staying close to nature.

Lago Soledad is proudly staffed by Machiguenga guides, whose deep knowledge of the forest offers rare insight into one of the Amazon’s most eco-sensitive cultures. We actively support education in local communities and regularly invite local schoolchildren to the lodge, inspiring the next generation to value, protect, and care for their rainforest home.
